We had an enjoyable family stay for Thanksgiving. The location is convenient to downtown, and even more convenient to our in town family. We have stayed here before and also enjoyed our stay. This time, though, the internet seemed slower than I remember. Otherwise the house worked well for us.

Our sweet bungalow/cottage was perfect. The kitchen was amazing. Two or three people can work at the same time. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The storage space was amazing. The owners thought of everything you might need. I would definitely recommend this little house.

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was on the weekend of the Kinetic Sculpture Race and the house was on the path of the racers! We didn't use the bikes like we'd have liked because of the fact they were in a location with numerous spiders. That freaked out my wife. Overall, the cleanliness of the house was good except for some of the dishes. The people before us didn't clean them well. Hopefully, we did leave them clean. Thank you all!

The house was in a good location for day trips to see the Redwoods, which were amazing. It doesn't have air conditioning, but we didn't need it since we weren't there during the day and it was nice and cool at night. The bungalow was super clean, and had everything we needed. Everyone was comfortable, and it was a big bonus to be able to do our laundry. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. We had a great meal at the Campground - if you are looking for something a little special. My 18 year old daughter and I saved one afternoon for shopping in the cute stores in town. If you like thrifting, you'll be happy! A jet boat tour on the Klamath River is a must. We saw bears, eagles, and sea lions and it was a beautiful trip to the estuary.

The house is super cute and tastefully decorated. It had everything that we needed and would have wanted to a few night’s stay. The proximity to downtown Arcata is convenient. I did want to take one of the bikes that are in a shed on the property but could not find the bike locks. The guest book has the combo to get the bikes out and lock combos. I got the bike out and looked everywhere for the lock. I finally gave up and walked to the store. Fortunately, it is a fun neighborhood to walk around and the store is not too far.

Perfect location and accommodations for our family of 5. Couldn't have been more comfortable and cozy....except, it would be great if there was a dining table big enough to seat all the guests, and increased bandwidth for the WiFi. Especially since TV is WiFi dependent. Normally I don't work on trips and don't need WiFi, but this time both my husband and I needed to work and we couldn't. Had to find it in town.

I came here with my three children to visit family and honestly, the rental had everything I needed. It is such a cute, quaint and comfy little bungalow that it made it easy to just relax, disconnect and enjoy the pleasures offered in the beauty of the area.

As former HSU students we were thrilled to be back on our old stomping grounds. The house was very cute. Lots of space and great view for a small home. My only complaint is the spiders. My two year old spent the first night in the smallest bedroom in the back. The next day I checked behind her bed and found spider webs. I cleaned them up and then decided to check the bedside table. There were three HUGE spiders in a web. Terrified. I felt so bad for letting my child sleep with all of these spiders right next to her. As I started eating up this space two more spiders crawled out of the dresser and I lost sight of them. I kept my 2 year old in our bed for the last night.

Overall great place to crash with my family while visiting our son at HSU, very short drive to restaurants, cozy home, dishes were not as clean as we had hoped but all other items were well presented

Potter’s Bungalow did NOT disappoint. Everything was clean and functioning and easy to use. Close to downtown and even had access to bicycles.

Had I known how bad this house smells I would not have stayed here. The front room has a horrible thrift store/wet mildew smell that goes throughout the house and is overwhelming (I think it comes from the dresser in the front room). Also, there were other elements like loud road noise at night and cleaning details that were missed that were uncomfortable.

Great location and very quaint house. Everything was comfortable and in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The management team was quick to respond to our request for WiFi password as our first page in the book was missing. Absolutely would recommend for travelers.

I stayed at potter’s bungalow for my birthday weekend and the house exceeded every expectation I could’ve had. It was a very clean and spacious house with all of the amenities we needed to cook and clean up with. The beds were so comfortable and the whole aura of the house was comfortable as well. Beautiful front deck to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee, not to mention the cute furniture & decor in each room. I would 10/10 recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable house during their vacation. I will definitely be coming back.

This is the only charming house in a dreary neighborhood of Arcata. Except for the formica countertops, the house has been lovingly restored and is very functional. On the inside it feels much larger than it looks from the outside. Since the weather was good, we used the picnic table in the backyard for most of our meals. We stayed there during the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it seemed very clean, none of us got sick.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely little home. It was comfortable, nicely furnished, well decorated, and had comfy beds, nice linens, and a well supplied kitchen. The only thing that could have been upgraded were the blankets ~ a bit on the raggedy side. Otherwise, it was functional, comfortable, and attractive.

My family and I enjoyed staying at Potter's Bungalow in Arcata. It was a perfect place to stay to attend the HSU graduation. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The living room was small but comfortable. Great perk for bringing a family was being about to make our own breakfast and lunch so we could save a little money and not eat out all the time. There is a small market close by that has all the things you might forget. I highly recommend staying there. The bungalow was very clean when we got there and had plenty of all the basic supplies needed to make your stay comfortable.

4.5 stars. Three of us enjoyed your Potter's Cottage very much. There was more than enough space for us. It wasn't a big issue, but it was hard keeping my 2 older friends warm at night. There are 2 good heaters in the house: one baseboard heater in the bedroom with 2 twin beds and one wall heater on the dining / living room wall which keep those rooms toasty. When they shut their bedroom door for privacy, they had to shut out the warmth. The house was in a great location for our coastal vacation activities. We loved the pottery decorations in the rooms and the extra towels, even though we did not need all of them. The beds were comfortable. We decided that Arcata is our favorite coastal town to stay in and hope to return in the future, hopefully to this very cottage. I appreciated that the housekeeper showed up just as we were leaving since I never did figure out the trick of closing the lock box. I left my outside dog's tie out there, and she saved it for us, giving it to me when we returned from the beach.

Visiting my Brother & Suster in law and all their kids who live literally 1/2 a block from this wonderful house. We visited from Arizona and had a great stay. The house was clean, well stocked, perfectly groomed lawn and just plane fantastic. My kids LOVED the giant wall of Raspberry bushes in the backyard. I will definitely be staying here again when we visit again. So much better than a hotel.

As this was my first experience with a VRBO I am afraid to say I may have been spoiled for any other vacation rental. The artistic touches, the location, and the amenities were all perfect for our stay in Arcata. The rental comfortably housed three generations where we all had our own space, and enjoyed our trip. The only thing missing was a pair of adirondacks in the back yard; however, we might have had harder time leaving. Absolutely loved all the property and all the homemade pottery!

Correspondence with the folks ( we primarily worked with Jonna) managing the place was a breeze, as any time we had a question or needed something either Jonna or someone else was prompt to respond. While we paid a little more than we normally pay for a rental, this is one of the nicest properties we've ever rented and was well worth the price. Lovely home... fully equipped with everything we needed for a lovely holiday visit.
My only recommendation would be to please put handrails in the shower! My elderly mother had a very hard time.

We adore this cottage! This is our second time renting it for our extended family (my family of four, plus my brother-in-law and his two kids). It makes the perfect chill place for our family when we're visiting the in-laws and need a little space.
I also love that there is a washing machine and dryer - great as we're usually at the tail end of our driving trip when we come here.

A great little bungalow close to all that Arcata has to offer. Very comfortable place during both rainy and sunny days.

We enjoyed our stay at The Potter's Bungalow very much. The home was cozy and quaint. The kitchen was well-stocked and ready to go. There were plenty of towels and linens too! The house is located far enough away from downtown to provide plenty of quiet and privacy, but just a quick 5-minute car ride to get you back into the mix if you're looking for a variety of eatery options and a bit of night-life. Last but not least, Jonna at Trinidad Retreats was very friendly and helpful. Thank you again for making our stay special.

I stayed here while working at HSU. The cottage is a short bike ride to campus and close to downtown Arcata. A delightful and comfortable cottage.

We were in town for a wedding near Trinidad, and this was an affordable alternative to the Trinidad area, yet still quite close. The home has been been renovated with an artist's attention to detail. Nice location to downtown Arcata. We were at the beach and/or redwoods several times each day, and it was a quick ride up the 101 to all our locations.

The cottage has everything you need for a great stay. The neighborhood is quiet-the street not to busy. You can walk to great restaurants, the movies, ice cream and the Co-op.

The house is nice. It is well appointed. Plenty of room inside with a nice yard. Easy walk to town.

We loved the Potter's Bungalow with our 2 little children! It was easy access to everything and had all the amenities we needed to make it feel like a home away from home. Only suggestion would be to trim the bushes by the driveway as exiting driveway can be a little tricky sometimes but overall loved it!

The house was adorable. It was very well maintained and updated. Almost exactly one mile to the plaza. The only unfortunate thing was the neighbor came out as we were loading up in our cars at 4 pm and asked us to, "keep it down." That was quite surprising as we were just outside a few minutes loading stuff up to go to the beach. I wouldn't try to have an evening barbecue or dinner outside with six people for that very reason. The yard is so nice, it makes you want to be out there. The Trinidad retreats staff are super nice and available throughout the whole process and communication from them was top notch.

More than enough space. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Everything needed to stay in all day, but we just used it as an excellent spot to lay our heads down each evening after exploring the coast and redwoods from Crescent City to Eureka. Could not have found a better place that was so convenient and comfortable - inside and on the pocket book.

We were two families of four (four kids ages 10, 8, 5, 1). We had a super time at the cottage. It was actually quite a bit roomier than we had expected. The layout was fantastic. And it was great to come back from visiting the in-laws and have a place to put the kids to bed and for us adults to stay-up with a glass of wine and some games.

We also appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the use of the washer and dryer.
